i am currently attending UCD double major clinical nutrition and food management (hospitality). i grew up in the bay area SF/ daly city. im 21 years old. Hello all, how's it going? My name's Josh. Most would say that I have a quick wit and a sarcastic sense of humor. I do have a tendency to confound people at times. It's been said that I'm somewhat of a walking contradiction, I'm laid back but at the same time easily excitable (not in a psycho bipolar way, but in a calmly watching the game and then launching an angry tirade condemning the Chargers to hell for once again knocking the Colts out of the playoffs way...the sons of bitches...Which most people tend to find somewhat entertaining.) I began my PhD in Food Science in Davis in fall 2009. I've lived my entire life in the midwest (Michigan and Illinois) up until now, I like the weather here much more (so far).

I'm also something of a smart-ass. I wanted to answer "yes" to the Ethnicity question. (Oh, geez. I have to write more?) I'm kind of nice, actually. Empathetic. Cute? I don't know. I suppose it depends on your point of view. I am definitely a handful. :D

I enjoy photography, reading, a little writing, walks in natural settings (such as the state parks Arnold wants to close), comfortable camping, the ocean, and aside from being afraid of unenclosed heights, hiking on terrain that won't endanger life or limb. I also like independent movies, movies with subtitles, and date flicks, although I will break down and watch a guy movie once in a while. I love art, museums--PBS sort of stuff. Wining and dining is also good. Dancing, not so much as there is the question of grace.

I am divorced, not so recently, and have successfully retained physical custody through three (3!!) court battles I didn't initiate, not only because I'm capable and can be well-spoken when I choose, but because I'm good at strategy. I have two children over 18, not residing where I do. I am getting used to that. The last custody thing eliminated all my fundage and then some, so you need to understand I am *so* not wealthy. Nor do I expect to be. I am content to live simply, but I wouldn't mind the basics plus a few more details. (Someday, an SLR...)

I would be liberal, activist-y kind of person, except I am rather introverted and sort of shy on first, and maybe third, acquaintance. But once over that hurdle, I would like a little company. Companionship is definitely not overrated. :)

Hey, how's it going? I figured I would check out this OK Cupid thing since it looks like fun and I'm interested in meeting new people. I believe life is meant to be enjoyed and I think it's important to have fun, too. I can be serious when I have to, but I can just as easily have a long conversation about totally random topics. Some of my interests include theatre, karaoke, and running. I do some local community theatre, and I love it. I usually do more karaoke than I should, but I love to sing. It's one of those things in life I can't do without. I like to run about 4 days a week. Running is a great way to stay in shape, plus it doesn't require much, other than the initial "oomph" to get out the door!

I work as a computer trainer and Web developer. I like my job as I can put a lot of my own "creativity" into it. No two days are the same at work, and I love that aspect of my job.

I am a "summer" person. I love the summer time and warm to hot weather. I spend a lot of time in shorts and flip flops, cause I'm always looking forward to the next heat wave! Nothing like going for a swim during the summer heat...

i like describing myself as much as slaps to the face. besides you should never believe what someone claims about themselves over the internet. becauses i can say i am the greatest person ever but it wouldn't make a difference if you think i am a jackass in real life.

but to set the record straight i am not a jackass. i'd uber nice to elders and kids, and nice to my own age group but alot more sarcastic with a little sadistic humor at times.

The funny thing is, I got on this site many years ago when it was part of another site called spark.com. Does anybody remember that??? It was a guy that used to do a bunch of random experiments and then write and show pictures of them. Some were freakin disgusting...but mostly it was just funny! I have no idea how to self-summarize...

I spend most of my time being a total goofball. I work with kids, so in the past two months, I've gotten way worse. I love art in all of its different forms. I love to laugh. I make fun of just about everything, including, and perhaps most of all, myself. I really appreciate life's simple pleasures, like: good food, fantastic conversation, late nights, sleeping in, learning, rock and roll, oreo cookies and a tall glass of two percent...

I was a History major at UCD, and I enjoyed it.

So I think it is time for an update, mostly because about sixty percent of my summary no longer applies.

So I still live in Davis, but will probably be moving to Sacramento sometime in the next few months(plans for March at the latest). At the moment I am trying to find a job in the city that can help me pay for...well everything I might need.

I would say Im pretty laid back, but that's not really true, I'm sort of laid back but I can get a bit high strung(especially when I am stressed about things, which is a lot lately)
I am a big fan of the phrase "I will try almost anything once" and try my best to stick true to that.
I'm an avid tv watcher, and by that I don't mean I sit at home all day slobbing in front of a tv but yes, from time to time I see no reason why a day can't be spent doing nothing but enjoying being lazy and not thinking. Also thanks to the invention of the internets I am actually rarely at home while watching tv...which probably sounds strange but I do enjoy watching things on my laptop when I'm outside on a nice day.
I really love to travel, no matter how far, lately the farthest I've been going has been back home on the train but even that I really enjoy, I'd like to travel all around the world someday, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France, Israel, Egypt, Madagascar, India, Mongolia, China, and lastly but most importantly Japan, Oh how I really want to go to Japan.
I'm a generally shy person when I first meet people, not usually the first one to say Hi, but once I get to know someone I tend to open up rather quickly.

I'm a graduate student at UC Davis working on my Ph.D. in Biochemistry. I've settled into my life at the university and am chugging along quite nicely. However, I'm tired of being alone. I'm looking for someone to share good times, bad times, laughs, and everything else life throws at you.

I like to go out and walk, ride my bike around, study, or shop around town. I believe strongly in self-improvement and consider the day wasted if I don't learn something new by the time I go to bed. I used to be a pretty obsessive gamer, but I'm more casual about it now; I play every so often and pick up a new game once every couple of months if I hear good things about it. I love cats, dogs â?? pretty much all animals. When I was young I had a ton of pets (not all at once, of course!) - cats, dogs, cockatiels, chickens, quails, fish, turtles, ducks, and rabbits. Unfortunately, I don't any pets right now because I just don't have the time to look after any. Iâ??ve teaching myself cooking â?? mostly simple stuff like brownies, chili, casseroles etc.

I consider myself a (very) amateur writer. I've written a few fantasy novellas and posted them online to near universal acclaim...among the ~100 people who read them and commented. I'd like to write and publish a full-fledged novel one of these days - more as a self-accomplishment than anything else.

I try to exercise at least one hour a day. I regularly attended a Hapkido class for about 4 years, but the hours clashed with my schedule too often so I had to give it up. I also used to play Tennis - quite a bit, actually. I've switched over from a mainly cardio workout to weight-lifting (upper body); trying for a toned appearance. I'd love to meet someone I could play Tennis with, as a) I enjoyed it b) I could use the exercise and c) I'm out of practice.
